October 2017 News

President’s message:
A last minute reminder to get your show application in for our 68th annual Holiday Fine Arts and Crafts Festival on November 4th and 5th, 2017, at Kutztown University. This is a great weekend to kick off the Holiday Shopping season and let it begin with us. YOU, our craftsmen of the Reading-Berks Guild, make this event happen. Shoppers come to this sale because of the uniqueness, the quality of the crafts they find here and to learn about you, the person who makes the piece of pottery, who paints the picture, who carves the wood, who weaves the wool, etc, etc. etc. We are doing a fun scavenger hunt this year for our customers and the only one of it’s kind, the Goldilocks Log Cabin will go home with someone this year at the end of the show. So don’t delay, get your application in and join us at this Holiday event.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” Robert Brault

Your President, Barry L. Bennecoff

BCTV:
A most exciting time coming up for BCTV is right around the corner—OCTOBERFEST. The Octoberfest auction takes place the week of October 16. There is so much great stuff to bid on that week and while you are getting great stuff, you are also helping our great friend, BCTV. On Thursday, October 19, will be craft night and that is the night that all the wonderful hand-crafted items by members of our guild along with craftsmen from the Kutztown Folk Festival, artists from the Goggleworks will be on the auction block. This is an exciting and fast paced night. If you have not already donated, you can bring your donation to our general meeting on Tuesday, October 3, and I will be glad to take it into the studio. Let’s pull together and make this Octoberfest the best ever for BCTV.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.                                                                   Your Host, Kay L. Bennecoff
