President’s Message:
I hope you are all doing well, staying safe. We have all had so much studio time, I am anxious to see all the new creations our makers and artists have been working on for the last few months. Our Holiday Festival committee and our Board have been meeting via “zoom” and the 71st Holiday Fine Art and Craft Festival is scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 2020 at Kutztown University. We are motivated to make this a great festival so get your applications in. Applications are on our website. Again because of Covid-19 our picnic in June is cancelled and we do not have a general meeting in July; hopefully, I will see you in August at our general meeting at the Goggleworks. Our plans are to be at the Sly Fox Bistro in the Goggleworks. Keep your fingers crossed. We will keep you updated.
“My father always told me, Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” Jim Fox

Media:
“Your Berks Craftsmen” will be on June 17, 2020 at 7:00 PM. What it will be this month is still up in the air. It would have highlighted craftsmen from the Kutztown Folk Festival for this year but due to Covid-19, the festival this year is postponed till June 26 thru July 4, 2021. The Festival committee is producing a virtual festival this year and we encourage you to go to KutztownFestival.com. So, we will see if we can get into the BCTV studio in June or if we will be virtual also. When we can get back in the studio, I have many artists and makers lined up to show you what they have been up to. They can’t wait to show you their creations and share their stories with you. Until then, stay safe, stay creative, stay in touch. I also just want to say a big thank you to BCTV. They are doing a great job keeping “on the air” during these Covid-19 days.
Your BCTV Host, Kay Bennecoff
Programs:
I hate having to cancel the picnic this year. As you know, we are still under safe distancing restrictions, and we did not believe we would be able to do that in a safe way. You can’t eat and wear a mask at the same time.
As always, no meeting in July.
August: We will hopefully be able to get together and socialize at The Den by Sly Fox at the GoggleWorks 1st floor at 7:00 PM. Come early to get your order in. It should be a grand time! I look forward to seeing all my guild friends.
Programs Chair, Matt Vardjan
Standards:
The next jury session is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8 at the Goggleworks. Members who have belonged to our chapter for a minimum of 3 months are eligible to present their work for jurying. For more information or for an application, go to https://rbcrafts.org/resources or contact Louise at eglassplace@gmail.com.
Standards Chair, Louise Mehaffey
Shows:
The show committee is meeting via Zoom each month and we are making good progress. We know that both the vendors and customers are ready for a great craft show to attend. Let this be the one!
If there is a flare up of Covid 19 and we are unable to have our Holiday Fine Art and Craft Festival, we will refund your booth fees.
We still need volunteers to do the decorating for the cafe tables and front entrance, you do not need to be a vendor to volunteer.
For those of you making videos for the Kutztown Virtual Folk Festival or for your own website, please send a copy to us at webmaster@rbcrafts.org. We will use these on our website, facebook and other media as appropriate. We reserve the right to shorten the video if necessary.
Thanks,
Show Chair, Steve Hunter
