President’s Message:

The count- down is on to the 70th Holiday Fine Art and Craft Festival.  There is no time to waste and you will not want to miss this one.  The show committee has gone all out with the advertising.  You will see us on FaceBook, Comcast, newspapers and billboards.  So while sitting in traffic is not fun, while you are stopped, you might just see us on a billboard depending where you are stuck!    If you are a member but not a vendor at this year’s event, please,  please,  come out and see us;  maybe call Carol Haile and volunteer for an hour.  Great time to catch up with friends, enjoy the festival and if you haven’t been to a regular meeting lately,  join us at 9:00 AM on November 3, 2019 before the show opens that day.  It is a great opportunity to get involved with your guild again.  Remember without YOU, well it just won’t be the same!    Signing up for our famous Christmas party can happen on our website or at our meetings.  This is such a wonderful night out and the Yellow House Hotel does an outstanding job for us.  Great Food, Great entertainment and best of all Great Friends!
A new event for us is ou r Santa’s Secret Shoppe, a pop up at Renninger’s Farmers’ Market on Saturday December 7, 2019 fr0m 9 AM to 4 pm.  We have more of these Pop-up shows planned for 2020.  Be part of this action.  Check us out!  A very casual event!

Media:

This month on BCTV, you will find “Your Berks Craftsmen” featuring our upcoming Holiday show for November 2 and November 3.  We had such a good time doing this show.  The studio was overrun with makers and fine artists who will be at our 70th annual Holiday Fine Art and Craft Festival.  The studio looked like a mini show.  It was beautiful.  Judy and Terry Boyer, co-chairpersons of this great event and their guests did an outstanding job telling their stories of their crafts to our audience.  AND October is Octoberfest Auction for BCTV.  It starts on October 14 and runs that week.  Please, please tune in and bid.  You will find something for everyone.  The wonderful crafts will be auctioned off on Thursday, October 17.  It  is a big night thanks to all the wonderful makers, craftsmen and artists.  Many of these donations come from Reading-Berks members and craftspersons from the Kutztown Folk Festival  2019.   We all share a common goal.  Help BCTV with their fundraiser because we know what a good friend BCTV is to us.  Thank you BCTV!

Your BCTV host,  Kay Bennecoff
